Hadden Group secures Scotland Excel new build housing framework

Hadden Group has recently been appointed to the £1.5 billion Scotland Excel New Build Residential Construction Framework for new build housing & residential accommodation delivery following a rigorous procurement exercise to all five lots across 15 local authority areas.

This framework has been built in collaboration with 11 funding councils to support the Affordable Housing Supply Programme introduced by the Scottish Government to address the issue of the shortfall in affordable homes and the inequality of living in Scottish society.

The key objective of this framework is to provide councils, housing associations and other associate members with a mechanism to procure a range of residential properties, including all enabling and ancillary works and services, from contractors at the best value. The framework focuses on the delivery of affordable houses, bungalows and flats but can also be used for other residential properties, such as sheltered housing, student accommodation and mixed tenure properties.

The framework enables any Scotland Excel member to appoint Hadden Group directly or through mini-competition across a range of contract options.

The framework offers five lots covering project sizes across Scotland comprising:

  • Lot 1 – Developments of 1-15 units (Build)
  • Lot 2 – Developments of 1-15 units (Design & Build)
  • Lot 3 – Developments of 16-25 units
  • Lot 4 – Developments of 26-40 units
  • Lot 5 – Developments of 41 units and over

Hadden Group has secured a framework appointment for all the lots and locations it applied for across Scotland covering the following Local Authority areas:

  • Angus
  • Clackmannanshire
  • Dundee City
  • East Dunbartonshire
  • East Lothian
  • City of Edinburgh
  • Falkirk
  • Fife
  • Midlothian
  • North Lanarkshire
  • Perth & Kinross
  • South Lanarkshire
  • Stirling
  • West Dunbartonshire
  • West Lothian

The framework will help members improve their housing stock, reduce carbon emissions, deliver substantial savings and efficiencies, and support fair work practices and improved subcontractor payments. It will also deliver a wide range of additional benefits, including significant local community benefits through local employment opportunities and contracting opportunities for supported businesses and social enterprises.

The framework started in August 2019 and runs until July 2021 with a 2 year extension option.
