Timber kits going up at The Glen, Coalsnaughton

Works are progressing well at the site of our new mid market rental housing development at The Glen, Coalsnaughton.

The 1st phase of 16 houses due for completion in April 2013 is well underway with the timber kits up for the first 8 houses and block of 4 cottage flats.

The finished development of 28 houses will offer 8 two bedroom flats, 8 three bedroom and 12 four bedroom  houses in a stunning location overlooking the Ochil Hills.

The building works have involved an extensive level reduction with over 827 lorry loads of soil being removed from site for reuse which equates to over 16,500 tons of earth!

The development is part of the Scottish Government\'s National Housing Trust initiative to provide rental homes for working households who have a reasonable income but who are not able to obtain a mortgage at present.  The rents will be set at a level between market rent and those charged by councils and housing associations and tenants will be given the opportunity to purchase the properties after 5 years.
