Work begins on Monday on a new £1.7m housing development on the site of the former youth hostel at Killin for A&H Developments (Killin) Ltd.

The unique development of 14 two-bedroom terraced houses in a courtyard setting is situated within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park on the main road into the conservation village of Killin.

The stone from the original youth hostel will be used in the construction of the new homes.

The development has been designed by Denholm Partnership Architects, Christopher Palmer Associates and WMA Engineers. It features an attractive semi-rural terraced courtyard setting, well-suited to ambience of the surrounding area. Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Planning Authority has granted Full Residential Planning Permission, without any occupancy restrictions, to the site. Therefore, the homes can be used for permanent residency, second homes, holiday lets or Buy-to-Let investments.

Reservations for the homes are being accepted immediately. The homes range in price initially from £239,500 to £249,500 (valid until the end of July 2014), within the 1% Stamp Duty criteria. Early purchasers will have the widest choice of houses and be able to select from a number of options with respect to finish and fittings.
