Hadden Construction has won a Green Apple Award from The Green Organisation at the Scottish Green Apple Awards 2015 held at Edinburgh Zoo in September 2015.

The award was in recognition of our efforts to reduce carbon emissions from our extended Head Office which were completed in January 2015.

The work carried out included a range of energy saving features featuring enhanced high efficiency boilers, low energy lighting, an array of roof mounted solar panels to provide us with all our power requirements and a publicly available electric car charging point in our new car park area.

The Green Apple Awards are run by The Green Organisation – an independent, non-political, non-activist, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world. The awards aim to improve environmental performance, encourage the efficient use of resources, enhance the competitiveness of organisations and support the wider goals of sustainable development, including social benefits through community and staff involvement.

The project will now go forward to compete in the national Green Apple Awards being held in Westminster in November.
