Engaging with Local Suppliers

Hadden Construction recently attended Constructionline’s Glasgow Meet the Buyer event - an opportunity to engage with SME businesses from the local area. As part of our commitment to maximise sustainable economic benefits and facilitate the link between our business, our suppliers and SMEs we recently attended Hampden Park in Glasgow to meet new and existing suppliers and sub-contractors. The event provided a chance for Hadden Construction to engage with local SME suppliers to discuss how they can enter our supply chain and work with us on upcoming projects.

Organising the event, Stephanie Lawrie, Client Relationship Manager at Constructionline told us; “The Glasgow Meet the Buyer event offered a valuable introduction between both buyers and suppliers. Local suppliers attending enjoyed the chance to connect with public and private sector buying organisations on their doorstep, while the buyers exhibiting were able to take advantage of the chance to engage with these SME suppliers as a part of their localism/CSR agenda.”

The event proved to be a great success with 347 suppliers in attendance on the day. With 29% of those suppliers based in the local area, and 33% classified as an SME organisation - the event offered a great opportunity for Hadden Construction to build their local supply chain for upcoming projects.

After exhibiting on the day Stephen Lynas, Business Development Director said \'The event was very well organised and both my colleague Lynn Anderson and myself had a steady stream of potential supply chain businesses approaching us for more information on how to engage with Hadden and win work with us.
