Building Site Safety for Mid Calder Pupils

Our Business Development Director Stephen Lynas visited Mid Calder Primary School recently to speak to the pupils at assembly about staying safe around our new nursery site during construction work as part of our Community Benefits Programme with West Lothian Council

As part of these visits we use the Ivor Goodsite cartoon character from the Considerate Constructors Scheme to reinforce the message of how dangerous playing on a construction site can be. Whilst at a school, Ivor helps to assist in the delivery of health and safety talks, which cover topics such as hazards that may be found on, or around, a live construction site and how children can remain safe. 

As part of these visits we also launched a Building Site Safety Poster Competition for the children with the winning posters provided with prizes sponsored by Hadden Construction. These posters are then put up around the building site to reinforce the building site safety messages.
