Skills Academy

We have developed our own Skills Academy which now gives us the ability to offer opportunities to those who are seeking a chance to develop new skills, learn a trade and be involved in our immensely experienced and thriving workplace. 

Our Skills Academy is a programme of training and development which aims to improve your employability and practical skills across varying construction projects. The construction industry is full of diverse opportunity and our Skills Academy enables you to get your foot in the door into an ever-growing and fast-paced industry. 

The ultimate aims is that every person who enters our Skills Academy leaves work-ready and enters a role best suited to their new skills, interests and aspirations. The creation of the Academy will also ensure that we provide a diverse range of skilled workers for the future. 

Hadden Group aim to identify potential and offer continuous professional development to a variety of people. Our Skills Academy enables local people to be trained into jobs and therefore doing our part in helping create stable communities. 

By creating a Skills Academy at Hadden Group, we are able to provide our participants with an EU compliant, end-to-end procurement process and guidance which then offers access to industry approved, tried and tested benchmarks. 

Due to the high-risk operations carried out on constructions site, anybody who has not yet reached the official minimum school leaving age (MSLA) will not be permitted to undertake a work placement with us.

Opportunities:

Hadden Group can offer various work experience placements within our head office or out on one of our construction site. If you are looking for the opportunity to work on a busy building site we may have the placement that is right for you.

Our work experience placements can range from a day to a week in length.

Our Head Office work placements include Quantity Surveying, Administration & Finance, Customer Care, Buying, and Estimating.

Our site-based placements typically involve shadowing one of our site managers to understand how a construction site operates and is managed on a day to day basis.

We are also partnered with the Construction and Technology Centre based in Musselburgh. Unfortunately, the centre do not have a website yet, however, a simple google search for this facility will offer many articles covering the new centre.
